So much to love about this quirky 90s flick: great writing and acting, the funnest clothes and music, Christina Ricci’s film debut, and of course lots of fun finger foods!

These kabobs have quite the variety of flavors. Yay to the Mallomars but a hearty no thank you to the orange-and-yet-banana-flavored (???) circus peanuts. If you love circus peanuts let me know and I will mail you the rest of the bag that I will NOT be eating ;-)

Directed by: Richard Benjamin

Starring: Cher, Bob Hoskins, Winona Ryder, Michael Schoeffling, and Christina Ricci

Screenplay by: June Roberts (based on the novel by Patty Dann)

Kate Flax: “What is this?”

Rachel Flax: “Cheeseball pick-me-ups accompanied by miniature franks and for dessert, marshmallow kabobs.”

Charlotte Flax (narrating): A word about Mrs. Flax and food. The word is hors d’oeuvres. Fun finger foods is her main source book, and that’s all the woman cooks. Anything more, she says, is too big a commitment.
